The Point is yet again caught up in the turbulence and instability of border restrictions, not by a virus this time, but by political gamesmanship of which we have little influence.

During these times the food bank will continue to provide help to the community, as it has for many years. Our open hours are from 8:30 to 10:30 on Friday mornings.

We have no restrictions on who can make use of the food bank, and that is not going to change. There are probably residents that truly need assistance, but are reluctant to do so for their own personal reasons. We encourage those individuals to visit us. The Raven van is now available to provide a ride on Friday mornings.

Finally, please understand that our operations would be severely compromised if the International Marketplace was no longer viable. They have strongly supported the food bank for many years, with both food items and refrigerated storage space. We encourage all those who can to shop at the Marketplace.

The food bank is here when needed, but our local businesses need support, particularly now.
